Low-Code/No-Code Developer

Low-Code/No-Code Developers build functional business apps using platforms such as OutSystems, Appgyver, Mendix, or Microsoft Power Apps. This role involves configuring data models, workflows, and interfaces with minimal traditional coding. Ideal candidates have a keen eye for UX, a logical approach, and strong platform experience.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Low-Code/No-Code Developer to design and deploy business applications and workflow solutions using platforms that minimise the need for traditional coding. You will collaborate with business users and technical teams to rapidly develop functional apps that automate processes and support digital transformation. This role is open to candidates in South Africa and remote professionals.

Employment Type:

Full-time or project-based contract

Remuneration:

Market-related, depending on platform experience and project scope

Reporting Line:

Reports to IT Manager, Product Owner, or Automation Project Lead

Working Conditions:

  • Location: South Africa or remote

  • Work Environment: Agile, iterative development with business-facing interaction

  • Tools Provided: Access to licensed development platforms, databases, and cloud environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and customise applications using platforms such as Microsoft Power Apps, OutSystems, Mendix, or Bubble.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional designs.

  • Integrate apps with databases, APIs, and third-party services for complete end-to-end solutions.

  • Test, deploy, and maintain applications across web and mobile platforms.

  • Document processes, configurations, and user guidelines.

  • Monitor application performance and resolve issues or implement enhancements.

  • Stay up to date with platform features, new technologies, and best practices in low-code development.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Practical experience with one or more low-code/no-code platforms (e.g. Power Platform, Appgyver, Glide, Airtable, Zoho Creator).

  • Ability to work independently and deliver functional applications rapidly.

  • Understanding of application logic, data relationships, and user interface design.

  • Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, and integration methods.

  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to user experience and usability.

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Information Systems, Software Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 1–3 years of experience building applications using low-code/no-code tools.

  • Understanding of process automation and digital transformation initiatives.

  • Exposure to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or CRM/ERP integrations is beneficial.
