UI/UX Designer

UI/UX Designers are responsible for designing user-centred digital experiences through research, wireframing, prototyping, and interface design. Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD is required. Strong understanding of user behaviour, accessibility, and responsive design is crucial.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to craft user-centered digital experiences that are functional, intuitive, and visually appealing. You will be responsible for designing wireframes, mockups, and user journeys that guide the development of websites, apps, and digital platforms. This role is suitable for candidates based in South Africa or working remotely.

Reports to Product Manager, Creative Director, or UX Lead

Working Conditions:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design responsive user interfaces for web and mobile applications.

  • Conduct user research, create personas, and map customer journeys.

  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.

  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into design solutions.

  • Conduct usability testing and iterate designs based on user feedback and analytics.

  • Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and consistency across devices and platforms.

  • Contribute to and maintain design systems and UI component libraries.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in UI/UX tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision).

  • Strong understanding of user-centred design (UCD) principles and usability best practices.

  • Knowledge of design systems, interaction design, and information architecture.

  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end development processes is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.

  • 2–4 years of UI/UX design experience, preferably in product teams or digital agencies.

  • A portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of UX principles and user interface execution.

  • Experience with tools such as Hotjar, Google Analytics, or Maze is advantageous.
