Visual Designer

Visual Designers focus on the aesthetics of digital products and brand assets. Responsibilities include high-fidelity mockups, visual hierarchies, and design systems. Experience with digital design tools, a strong design portfolio, and a deep understanding of colour, typography, and spacing are essential.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Visual Designer to craft impactful digital and brand assets that communicate clearly, align with visual identity systems, and enhance user engagement. This role focuses on the aesthetics and consistency of user interfaces, marketing materials, and brand collateral. Opportunities are open to candidates based in South Africa or working remotely.

Working Conditions:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create visually compelling designs for websites, mobile apps, digital campaigns, presentations, and brand communications.

  • Translate brand guidelines into high-quality digital and print visuals.

  • Design custom graphics, icons, and illustrations that enhance user interaction and storytelling.

  • Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and marketers to ensure cohesive visual experiences.

  • Maintain and contribute to brand design systems and digital asset libraries.

  • Prepare files for production and ensure quality control across all touchpoints.

  • Keep up to date with visual design trends, digital standards, and best practices.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in visual design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma or Sketch.

  • Strong understanding of colour theory, typography, layout, and composition.

  • Ability to work within established design systems while contributing creative input.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or a related field.

  • 2–4 years of experience in visual design or branding across digital and print mediums.

  • A portfolio that demonstrates both conceptual thinking and high-quality execution.

  • Experience designing for responsive and cross-platform environments.
